Puentes de Cristo

In the fall of 1999, our Mission Committee proposed we begin our first long distance mission.  Several members winter in the Hidalgo, TX area and knew of the Puentes de Cristo program.  During the winter of 1999, several members traveled to Texas and Reynosa, Mexico to evaluate their needs and to assess how we might help.

This spring, the Mission Committee reported on that visit and recommended we support the Mission in two ways.  First there is an immediate need for basic supplies such as personal hygiene items and school supplies.  The second, and more adventurous recommendation was to plan for a trip to Mexico in the summer of 2001.  

We are very excited about this mission and look forward to carrying out God's work in the world.
