From homelessness to self-sufficiency

In 2013, the First United Presbyterian Church purchased a residence located on the west side of Winterset to begin a new ministry. The house designed to be transitional housing for a family in the area who is currently homeless. The church partners with various community agencies and organizations along with expertise within the congregation to create a program that will assist the family members to move toward self-sufficiency once again.

A Client Care team helps to ensure the family has the resources it needs to get back on its feet and become self sufficient.  Additionally a congregation family "adopts" each Hope Home family and helps connect them to our church and provide them with additional love and support.

Since its inception, Hope Home has helped three families gain self sufficiency.
